Château de Chillon

international competition, 2013, Montreux / Schweiz

The building is an interpretation of the existing geometric shapes of the architectural ensemble of the castle. The “the defensive and the rough-edged“ of the place, in correspondence with the geometric roof scenery of the bazaar, is a model for the contouring of the building. It subtly fits into the existing topography of the area, nevertheless it is gesture and sign of the castle entrance and the scenic panorama. The roof of the building is brought forward and has multiple tasks, it protects and points to the castle bridge at the same time. The unique outer contouring and shape of the building is continued in the interior room concept.
