Monument Castle Park Schieder

development and maintenance concept, 2017, Schieder-Schwalenberg

The expert report for the protection, development and maintenance of the monumental palace grounds Schieder gives attention to the different time layers of the park, their importance and future interaction. The palace garden with its 20ha was created over the centuries, beginning in the baroque period, with two extensions in style of the landscape park, ending in the 19th century. Rounded additions of the 20th century complete the park to the landscape of the Emmerstausee, seen today. A diverse building stock is located in the park and must be evaluated as differentiated as the rich tree stock from the past epochs of the landscape park. The relatively recent shift in the use of the palace garden as a spa park is also valued in the research of the report.
